May and June 2026: Discord cards and shared watchlists

The first update post looks back at late spring, when Cinema Circle started reaching outside the app.

Cards on Discord

The Discord integration now posts proper cards instead of plain text. Each kind of event has its own: new films, votes, reviews, new members, polls and scheduled nights. Votes show quarter-star detail, poll cards adapt to the poll type, and you can change channel without connecting the server again.

Better recommendations

Club recommendations now use keywords and what similar voters liked, and you can dismiss a film you don't want to see again. The film hero on the home also shows where the last film ranks in the club.

Faster adding and rating

• Rate a film in the same step as adding it.
• Add and rate from Now at Cinema and from recommendations.
• A warning when the film is already in your club.

Shared watchlist and random pick

Clubs can keep a watchlist everyone adds to, with filters and a random pick for nights when nobody can decide. Public film pages also arrived in June, with the scores and reviews from public clubs.

Cinema Circle (cinemacircle.mov) is not affiliated with the CinemaCircle Discord bot at cinemacircle.app.
