Vermilion45 (The 5 Dollar Bin), 8.25/10: The blueprint for what would be the one of the biggest types of horror films in the 80's, the backwoods slasher. And rightly so. Although not as filled with blood and nudity as they would later become, it's still moody and plays out like a murder mystery at times. Looking back it's easy to dismiss with its lack of masked killer, but at the time and when viewed on its own it's a well-played twist that's very down to earth and realistic compared to the seemingly indestructible killers to come.
